Two-stent techniques for the treatment of coronary bifurcations with drug-eluting stents.

چکیده
coronary interventions (PCI) and the recent introduction of drug-eluting stents (DES) have led to a dramatic increase in the number of patients treated percutaneously. Bifurcation lesions are one of the complex lesion subsets that are now being confronted more frequently. Repeated studies have shown that bifurcation interventions, when compared to non-bifurcation procedures, have a lower rate of procedural success and a higher rate of restenosis. Various techniques making use of one or two stents have been developed to optimise the treatment of this subset of lesions. Paradoxically, while stenting of individual lesions has been shown to be superior to balloon angioplasty, stenting of both branches seems to offer no advantage over stenting of the main branch (MB) alone. The recent introduction of DES has resulted in a lower event rate and a reduction of MB restenosis in comparison with historical controls. However, side branch (SB) ostial restenosis remains a problem.

Modified T-Stenting Technique with Crushing Using Paclitaxel-Eluting Stents
L esions located at coronary artery bifurcations represent one of the challenging areas in interventional cardiology. The use of coronary stents has resulted in a higher angiographic success rate compared to balloon angioplasty. Angiographic restenosis rates nevertheless remain high for the various techniques that employ bare metal stents. Although the advent of drug-eluting stents (DES) holds ...
متن کاملContemporary stent treatment of coronary bifurcations.
Treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions represents a challenging area in interventional cardiology. The introduction of drug-eluting stents (DES) reduced restenosis in the main branch (MB). However, restenosis at the ostium of the side branch (SB) remains a problem. Although stenting the MB with provisional SB stenting seems to be the prevailing approach, in the era of DES various two-stent t...

Background: Cardiovascular diseases alone have become the leading cause of death worldwide. One of the treatment methods cardiovascular disease is angioplasty. This study aimed to investigate the clinical results after coronary artery angioplasty, based on the incidence of major cardiovascular events with emphasis on stent types. Methods: In this retrospective cross-sectional study, the preval...
متن کاملAssociation of G22A variant of Adenosine Deaminase gene with coronary in-stent restenosis in coronary artery patients receiving drug-eluting stent
In-stent restenosis (ISR) is regarded as the main problem in the utilization of stents in the treatment of coronary artery atherosclerotic stenosis in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This study investigated the possible role of the G22A variant of the Adenosine Deaminase gene (ADA) in the development of ISR. In this study, 91 patients who underwent PCI were divided into two groups of ...

Arterial drug concentration distribution determines local toxicity. The safety issues dealt with Drug-Eluting Stents (DESs) reveal the needs for investigation about the effective factors contributing to fluctuations in arterial drug uptake. The current study focused on the importance of hypertension as an important and controversial risk factor among researchers on the efficacy of Heparin-Eluti...
متن کاملOverview of Intracoronary Brachytherapy for in-Stent Restenosis of a Drug-Eluting Stent
Percutaneous coronary intervention with stenting is considered recently as the most common procedure for the treatment of symptomatic coronary. The article reviewed 41 studies published during 1997-2019 on intracoronary brachytherapy for in-stent restenosis of a drug-eluting stent. Intracoronary radiation therapy was finally confirmed in the setting of in-stent restenosis using as adjunctive th...
